Services May Include The Following

• Preparation of breakfasts (with either your or my recipes—look on my blog-- or a combo of both), service and clean up (cooking is so creative and such a joy)
• Afternoon or evening refreshments if you wish
• Gently overseeing housekeeping staff and the doing of the laundry
• Checking in and checking out of guests
• Carefully taking reservation inquiries, messages, etc.. online or by phone including the forwarding of the inn’s phone service (if available) to my cell phone
• Concierge (schmooze) service for guests who want to know about the area or have inquiries about their needs, etc. (I love this!!)
• Daily clear financial accounting (Absolutely necessary!!!!)
• Daily property management including care of your indoor plants and pets (may require an extra charge)
• Running errands and shopping for your inn

Charges For Services:


• Because each bed and breakfast is so individually different, rates do vary depending upon how many accommodations you have, the occupancy of the accommodations, and what duties will be required of me. So, my rates are $115 up to $175 per night which will include my meals, lodging and traveling costs if over 100 miles from my residence. Each 100 driving miles thereafter will be billed at $40. For short term help, hourly rates are $20/hour. All extra necessary purchases I make for the inn will be reimbursed by the owner.

• When making a long term reservation of my service, a $115 deposit is required. The deposit will be returned if the cancellation of the service is made prior to 2 weeks of the start date. If the cancellation is made within the 2 week period, the deposit will be returned only if I am successful in booking another Inn Sitting job for the approximate same time period.

• If I’ve never Inn Sat at your inn, I will need one full day before the assignment for you to show me the routine of the Inn and to explore the area in order to be a good and knowledgeable concierge. If I already know the area, I’ll need less time.

• Inn Consulting Services are $35/hour.

Having run my very own dear Vine Street Inn by myself the last five years, I am well aware how hard it is to think of getting away and leaving your creation in the hands of a stranger. Will the guest Inn Keeper do as thorough a job as you? Can you trust the guest Inn Keeper to take good care of the housekeeping, financial matters, and future reservations? Will matters be in good order when you return? Will your guests come back to visit? Will they rave about the food and services as when you were there? Will you be able to explain to the Guest Inn Keeper all of the intricacies of what you do? You love what you do, but will you ever be able to leave and have the peace of mind that all will be well back at your inn? But you really need a little break. What a dilemma!!!!

I know that personally there were times when running my inn all by myself for 5 years, I would have loved having had an experienced someone at my side for extra busy hectic times. Or for just a week-end break or longer, to leave the inn with the confidence that my choice of a truly professional Inn Sitter would be taking loving care of my guests and the inn as I would be.

Yes indeed, I know these concerns all too well and therefore I created Inn-Ovation.

Margot loves people and is very energetic and organized. She is also a quick study. Her background includes having renovated, owned and operated an 1887 Victorian bed and breakfast in Paso Robles, CA for 5 years. Her guests loved her and she loved her guests. What a perfect combination. Margot’s marketing skills and love of people also was used in her career as a Realtor and in participating in many charitable non-profit organizations. Margot loves to cook and to offer concierge services to people. She was born in Geneva, Switzerland.; has lived all over CA. including Beverly Hills and in the Silicon Valley area as well as in Sun Valley, ID. and is now residing in Paso Robles, CA; has traveled extensively throughout the world; is a CAL alumni (go Bears!); and also speaks French fluently and Spanish semi-fluently. Her interests are people, cooking, arts, books (look at the blog book club and join if you wish), travel, sports, gardening, painting, music, playing classical piano and animals.
